MATH  I really like long division because I get how to do it. I don’t really get how to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers.

LANGUAGE ARTS  Reading is one of my favorite subjects because when I read I learn new things.  Writing, like reading is one of my favorite subjects because I can write about things that I like.  Spelling is a subject I think I am really awesome at because I can spell a lot of words correctly.

SCIENCE  I have liked all of the science we have done so far and it has all made sense. My favorite part of science is the experiments because they let me experience things instead of just reading them.

SOCIAL STUDIES  Social studies is an ok subject. I didn’t really like the MI government unit because it was stuff I already knew. But the Northeast region unit was super fun because I learned a lot of new things!

Highlights – Page 1  I have really enjoyed learning about electricity and Magnetism because I learned new and interesting things.  My favorite project or activity was a million dots because it was fun looking up facts and drawing.  I have struggled to understand multiplying large numbers using the traditional method because the order confuses me.

Highlights – Page 2  I am proud of how easily I learned long division.  I enjoy school most when I am reading.  I am most relaxed when I am reading.  The best thing I contribute to class is help when they don’t get things.

Goals for Rest of Year  Goal 1 learn how to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers.  Goal 2 read new book genres.  Goal 3 do 50 division facts in 2 minutes.

Parent Focus  I just want you to know that school is going good and I understand almost everything.  I appreciate it when you check my homework because then I know I am going to pass it.  The best thing you did for me this year was teach me traditional multiplication.  I wish we could read more because then you could see how much I improve each time I read to you.  Thank you for helping me understand things I don’t get on my homework because those are things that I need help with in school too.
