3D Word Drawings

The Problem You are to create a word out of paper and tape with at least 5 letters that “pops” off the page. You are to use your choice board media and the Elements and Principles to create the a 3D Illusion. Your choice board media are: pencil, colored pencil, oil pastel, chalk pastel, pen or charcoal.

Research Collect visual resources related to your topic. Search for existing photos, websites, artworks ect. Find your word.

Idea Generation From your collection of examples/images, begin to create thumbnail sketches. (3-5) Use your Elements of Art and Principles of Design to formulate these sketches. Create it out of paper and tape.

Test Choose your best thumbnail sketch and create a more detail design, larger in size. Refine your ideas by choosing color schemes and test out different mediums. Think about how you want the final project to look.

Evaluation Did you follow the design process correctly? Did you consider the Principles of Design? Complete the self evatuation/rubric and ERQ. Present/share out!!
