 4.1 Introduction  Discharge magnitude 측정에는 부적절.  Location of discharge 에는 유용 : light, sound  4.2 Noise detections in air  기중방전 (corona,surface, discharge) 의 위치를 acoustic method 에 의해 측정가능.  Audible noise  귀에 의한 방전검출 : 수백 pC 방전가능  매우 정숙한 환경 : 50pC

 Ultrasonic noise  Narrow band : 30 ~ 50kHz ( 주파수가 낮으면 외부노이즈와 구별힘 들며, 주파수가 높으면 매질을 통과할수록 감쇠가 커진다.)  Trouble – shooting  The acoustic method is an excellent aid for trouble shooting.  4.3 Noise detection in oil-insulated installations  Fig 4.3 참조  Nonelectric detection methods 는 방전의 크기를 측정할수 없지만 external discharge 에의한 영향을 받지않기때문에 electrically noise surroundings 안에서 good result 를 얻을수 있다.

 Location  High-voltage equipment, transformer, gas-insulated switchgear 에 위치 한다.  Capacitors  Sensitivity : 20pC  Not always clear, large capacitor is ensured.  solid insulation  케이블에서의 PD location 을 센서의 위치에 따라 찾기가 어려우므로, 휴 대용 센서를 이용하여 쉽게 측정가능.  Fig 4.5

 4.9 conclusions  Light detection :excellent auxiliary method for partial discharge detection and provides a sharp location at a good sensitivity, unaffected by electric disturbances in the test circuit or the mains.  Photographic records usually are made at various test voltage,around and above the inception voltage.
