Building 3 & Language Arts Info

Scenario: You have been appointed the contact person for new Building 3 students, which means they come to you with their questions about classes and the team. Directions: Using my class description sheet and the team information sheet from yesterday, answer the following questions.

(1) Yesterday at lunch, Mrs. Hamilton thanked me for being polite to the servers and handed me a red ticket. What am I supposed to do with that? (2) During starters in Mrs. Flood’s class, the boy next to me was talking and Mrs. Flood asked him what the class code was during starters. What did she mean by code?

(3) I overheard a girl say that the first time someone gets in a fight, all she’ll get is time in the penalty box. What’s the penalty box, and was the girl right about going there even after a fight? (4) How quickly will the teachers on this team call my parents if I get in trouble? (5)A girl was turned around talking while Mrs. McChesney gave assignment instructions, and Mrs. McChesney put a little paper on her desk. What was that?

(6) Besides the usual (paper and pencil), what do I need for Mr. K’s class? (7) I’m used to English and Reading being two different classes. What do we learn about in Language Arts? (8) My uncle, who went to this school eight years ago, thinks he had Mr. K for English. Was Mr. K teaching here then?

(9) Will we be assigned textbooks in Mr. K’s class? If so, how many? (10) I’ll miss Language Arts for a doctor’s appointment next week. How do I get the assignments I missed when I get back, and how many days will I have to do them? (11) My mom asked me what Mr. K’s address is. Do you know?

(12) How many times do quizzes count in Language Arts? (13) I made the basketball team, but my dad said I can only keep playing if I make all A’s, B’s and C’s. Language Arts is my worst subject, so what can I do if I make a bad grade on a quiz? (14) My aunt said she went to high school in Georgia with a guy whose last name was Kirkpatrick. Could that have been Mr. Kirkpatrick in our building?
