JoJo and the Gold Coin Written by Andrew Regan

Once there was a boy named JoJo. JoJo lived in a small very small village. He was happy in his village. He ran and played with his friends almost every day.

One day while JoJo was walking to school, he saw something shiny on the road. When he walked closer, he realized that it was a very expensive gold coin. JoJo looked around to see if anyone was watching. He saw no one so he put the coin in his jacket pocket.

All day long JoJo thought about what to do with the money he found. Should he buy some candy? Should he buy some toys? Should he buy a gift for his mother? He just couldn’t decide.

When school was finished, JoJo was very excited. He ran outside and headed for the market to spend his money. On his way to the market JoJo met an old woman on the roadside. The woman was poor and she was wearing old, ragged clothes.

JoJo thought about the money in his pocket and how it could be used to help the poor, old woman. He reached into his pocket and handed the woman the coin. “This is for you.” he said. “You need it more than I do.”
