Bird Adaptations Chapter 5 Mrs. Cochrane Environmental Science

Adaptations Birds have many adaptations… Including characteristics of beaks, feet, legs, wings, and coloration. These adaptations have evolved so that the bird is better suited to its environment and lifestyle.

Purpose …To realize that there are advantages for birds in looking how they do. …To recognize some of the ways in which birds are physically adapted to their environments.

Assignment Take a look at the following pictures of birds. All the birds are identified for you. With your partner, discuss what the adaptations are for each bird. Look at how they are adapted to their environment. Compare birds and their body parts. Decide what the advantages are for looking how they do.

Assignment Create a chart with three columns. Label your columns Adaptation, Bird, Advantage. Fill in the information. Be neat.
