Why A Framework or Model A Model could  standardize the profession’s goals and practice;  guide and direct practitioners in program design; implementation, and evaluation;  provide a unified direction/purpose;  offer direction-setting in counselor preparation;  guarantee equity in services in public and private schools;  provide a structure that will inform the public about the importance of guidance and counseling; and,  define counselor competencies necessary to run the programs recognize the counselors’ relevance in the educational system.  C.Dahir, 12/11
