This was unreliable for the farmers. The River Nile flows through Egypt which is a country in Africa. The Aswan Dam was built to control the flow of the river waters. Water was available for irrigation. Worlds largest dam ½ km wide Lake Nasser: artificial lake Provides energy for people of Egypt.

Aswan Dam project, Egypt River Nile flooded sometimes and did not supply enough regular water to farms at other times Aswan Dam built in ½ km wide creating a large artificial lake called Lake Nasser. Water pumped from Lake Nasser to farmlands to irrigate the land and help crops grow. Building the dam has left positive and negative effects on the people and land of Egypt
