GRADE POINT EVALUATION FOR ENTERING STUDENTS Community College Transfers –GPA is calculated on transferrable hours. –GPA and number of transferrable hours are used for transfer scholarship evaluation. Incoming freshmen –Class rank (not GPA) and test score are used for merit scholarship evaluation. –If high school doesn’t rank, admissions office assigns rank by creating 4.0 unweighted score and assigning rank using a scale.

All scholarships require specific TTU GPA and hours completion for renewal. GPA CONSIDERATION IN RENEWAL PROCESS

Recipients receive initial award letter/ s. Student portal displays terms & conditions/requirements for renewal. New student orientation sessions emphasize renewal requirements. Scholarship Office website outlines eligibility and renewal requirements. INFORMING STUDENTS OF RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

Customized report compiles student system data including completed hours, GPA, semesters of enrollment, etc. at the end of each term. Report compares data to grouped/coded scholarship requirements. Report creates eligible/ probation/cancellation groups. TTU GRADE EVALUATION PROCESS

Create a renewal appeals process. Find a way to automate as much of all processes as possible. Decide in advance how you will evaluate scholarship requirements. –Strict or lenient? (if the requirement is a 3.5 GPA, will you accept 3.49?) TTU BEST PRACTICES:
