Peer and Self Assessment: Help others help you!!
Presentation transcript:

Action Plan Ms. Nadia Sameer The City School (Model Town Campus) ICT, Jr. III – Jr. V

Goals and Objectives To enable the students to learn how to use the basic components of the computer. To teach the students how to use different formatting tools to make their documents presentable.

Teaching Methodologies Adaptability Communication Critical Thinking Collaboration Responsibility Self-Direction

Adaptability Ensuring students to adapt new ways of completion of tasks which can be different from the ones the teacher has taught. Setting goals and rewards for students completing the work on time and for those who help students in completing the work.

Communication More emphasis would be given on: Two way communication between teacher and students. Freedom of sharing new ideas. Peer to peer communication for problem solving.

Critical Thinking Students review on their work. Questioning methodology. Brainstorming sessions.

Collaboration More emphasis would be given on: Group Work. Peer to Peer Assessments. Problem solving by the teacher and the students.

Responsibility and Self Direction Students would be at liberty to self direct themselves for problem solving and be responsible for the outcomes.

Challenges and Solutions Students may not adapt the new methodologies and may be hesitant to come up with solutions to the problems and then taking their responsibility. Students may disagree on working with groups or sharing their ideas on problem solving with others. Students may not welcome the questioning part as they would be afraid to get embarrassed if the answer is wrong. I would encourage the students to come up with solutions by personally reviewing their work and giving them the better ideas. I will offer them rewards for the best group so that they enjoy working together to achieve a common goal. I will prepare worksheets for them initially and then slowly inculcate it as a daily practice session after an activity.
