Importance of the Battle of Gettysburg O Gettysburg was an important victory for the North because it was such a great defeat for the South. O As for the Southerners they were basically on defense the rest of the battle, they were just being attacked.

Importance of the Battle of Gettysburg O After the great victory from the Union, President Abraham Lincoln gave his great speech the Gettysburg Address. O This was a very important speech because the world noted at once what he said, and will never cease to remember it. O The speech was more important than the battle itself !
