Introduction Value chain approach is the main approach adopted by FASDEP II for agric dev’t All MOFA projects therefore employ the VC Approach for implementation Other NGOs e.g. Technoserve, TIPCEE, ACDEP, SNV etc had already used VC approaches One of the challenges identified by MOFA was:- ◦ Lack of information on actors along the value

Intro’-cont NRGP being the largest MOFA project implementing VC championed the process of organizing the 1 st ever Value Chain Practitioners Forum in Nov, 2009 and followed up with the 2 nd in Jan, 2011

The Value Chain Practitioners Forum Objectives To bring together the VC family to know who is doing what, where, how and for how long so that, synergies can be built for collaboration Knowledge & experience sharing interms of successes and failures & lessons learnt Share the main school of thought on VC practice methodologies as the theoretical basis for dev’t

Some Results A core team was established and anchored in MOFA-PPMED The event has now been adopted as an annual event (forum) where progress on linkages, collaboration & success stories are shared Core team keeps the database of practitioners Created a list serve where value chain information & documents are shared with all actors

Some Results-con’t The core team is planning the 3 rd Value Chain Practitioners Forum NRGP has benefited tremendously with collaboration with other promoters e.g financial institutions, other projects and NGOs
