Salute your family’s veterans Parkview School W. Villard Milwaukee, WI

Parkview Staff and Drug Free Schools are saluting Veterans for the month of November. We are sending stars home with your child. If you would like to salute a veteran or veterans in your family, put their name on a star, the branch of service and year of service (if you know it), cut it out and send it to Parkview to be displayed on our “Thank You Veterans Wall” in the gym. We need your stars by November 8 th, so our wall can be up on Veteran’s Day Saturday November 11th. 11/1/06 Dear Parents, Be A Hero – Say No To Drugs Parkview School W. Villard Milwaukee, WI

Teachers Please take time on Tuesday or Wednesday to take Down your students hats and posters from the gym. There is a red ribbon on the winning poster or hat. Please give the winning student the attached certificate for their entry. If you do not need one or both of the certificates just send them back to room 11 or put them in my mailbox. I will send a not around for the children’s names who were the winners on Thursday. Thank You The theme for November is “Heroes Don’t Do Drugs. ”It is saluting our Veteran’s. All the children will get a red Drug Free Schools pencil for Veterans Day handed out on the 10 th as the 11th is a Saturday. We are asking the students to brings stars with their family Veteran’s names on them. Send them to Room 11 when they come back. If a child needs more stars send them to Room 11. If you would like to your student’s to enter our picture or words essay contest “What Veteran’s Mean To Me”, or “What America Means To Me”, you can send them to Room 11 by November 8 th and we will display them in the gym. They can be done at home or at school v

Parkview School is part of a new MPS Health Initiative this year. I asked the new Social Worker and Psychologist to work on the Trails Program with K-3 children and teachers, the Zink the Zebra Program with K3,K4,K5. We do have the Steps to Respect Program with Trade Books in the Basement which is about bullying, for 3,4,5 to use. I suggested staff Morale and Unity Boosters and the FISH Program. If you have ideas for them to work on with staff or with your, class please go talk to one of them and give them ideas.
