Engineering Notebook By: The Build Leaders

This Presentation What is The Notebook and What it is used for 1923’s engineering notebook Parts of the Notebook - Headers - Part Description - Diagram - Additional Parts

The Engineering Notebook It is used for documenting the parts of the robot FRC judges usually ask for this so they can see how the team spread their work. It is also a way to make sure we don’t have to redo parts or make second ones

1923’s Engineering Notebook This year, we have a worksheet that is to be completed for every part of the robot that we build It is made so it is simple and fast to catalog our parts of the robot.

Headers This part of the notebook indicates who built what part of the robot. The Date is to be filled out so that the notebook can be organized in a chronological order. The names will help the leaders know who has not gotten a chance to build. The names of mentors indicate who supervised the build to insure that the build was safe.

Part Description This part of the notebook indicates what part this part plays in the robot as a whole. In this section it should say what the part does and how it helps us earn points in the game. This is important so we know it is not a random piece and that all parts of the robot are accounted for

Part Diagram/ Picture This part of the notebook indicates What the part looks like so it is not confused with another part. It is also there to show how it is connected to the rest of the robot. This is important because it allows anyone to put together and attach this part to our robot.

Extra Information This part of the notebook indicates other functions or important things to know about this part. Things include: how it is mounted, how it was built, how to maintain this part, and also how to reset it in competition.
