School School location –Located at Madanpalle –2.5 hrs drive from Bangalore School –Small campus with 3 buildings –Quiet surroundings –Clean and well maintained campus with a small garden –Children come from 3-4 villages nearby, some walk from about 3kms away –Classes pre-KG to 8 th with informal after-school classes for 9th, 10 th students

Children –Number doubled to 150 in last 2 yrs –Over 50% in lower classes – pre-KG and 1 st –Kids were very active and not too shy –Children are very motivated to attend because of mid-day meals, breakfast and snacks –Children are excited about the school due to music and dance activities that are involved –Kids willingly help with school chores and other activities like paper-binding books –UKG kids could write her name in English –Kids come in every Saturday and help with paper-binding books and other school housekeeping activities, play games after finishing work

Latest Happenings –Mr. C. Ravindran is now in charge of the entire administration –Mr. Srinivas (Math Teacher) has now taken charge as Principal –Mrs. Radhika Ravindran is looking after the Kitchen and Housekeeping requirements –Currently 9 teachers and 150 children –Classes from Nursery to 8 th standard –6 Students who have been attending the after school sessions have scored above 80% in Tenth standard Board exams

Other Initiatives –Volunteers come from Bangalore to train teachers in English –They organized a drive to collect sweaters for the children –After school activity- Coaching the 9 & 10 Std children of Govt schools and some of our senior children who have passed out teaching the lower grade children. –Medical Camp organized and FU action taken. –Sponsored two teachers for a 5 week Training Program - conducted by the MDA, Chennai

Funding History We funded Rs. 4,23,000 ($9000) for This was to cover the cost for part of their operational expenses Some of their expenses are covered by: –Volunteers who sponsor a Rs per year –Charitable donations from people –Borrowing loans
