Men’s roles were hunting, and sometimes going to war with another tribe to protect there families. Children’s roles were practically the same as us!! How Potawatomi tribe addapted to Michigan Potawatomi woman wore long deerskin dresses, Potawatomi men wore breechcloths, the Potawatomi wore moccasins on there feet the boys wore the same as the men, the girls wore the same as the woman. They ate deer and fish and elk, wild birds, corn , bean, wild berries , squash, tobacco, and wild rice. The Potawatomi's location The Potawatomi’s were close with the Ojibwa tribe. There were two types of dwelling used by the Potawatomi tribe. Potawatomi hunters and warriors used bows , arrows , and wooden clubs. Most Potawatomi’s speak English but some people, especially elders also speak their native Potawatomi language. The Potawatomi were part of the north east woodlands.
