Prov 3:5, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

Jesus’ Tearful Procession!

Prophecy foretold of the day Jesus, the Messiah, would enter Jerusalem and then be “cut off”, (i.e., rejected by the people), in Zech 9:9; Isa 62:11; Psa 118:26-27; Dan 9:24-25.

Zech 9:9, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Dan 9:24-27 gives us the Prophecy of our Lord’s entrance and “cutting off”, and His Second Advent.

The fulfillment of this prophecy is recorded in each of the gospels. Mat 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28- 44; John 12:12-50.

Christ’s procession was a type of victor’s procession, from the Divine viewpoint of Eternity Past.

Zech 9:9, “… Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

This King distinguished himself by riding upon a donkey, a “beast of burden”, Mat 21:5.

Isa 9:6, “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

The prophecy of the King of Judah in Gen 49:8-12, was proclaimed, and will be fulfilled in His 2 nd Advent, cf. Rev 5:5.

Zech 9:9, “… He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Zech 9:10-12, “….His dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. 11 As for you also, because of the blood of My covenant with you, I have set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. 12 Return to the stronghold, O prisoners who have the hope; this very day I am declaring that I will restore double to you.” Cf. Psa 118:22-29.

The First Advent age is to celebrate the Cross of Jesus Christ, as commanded in 1 Cor 11:23-26.

Grace Offering 2 Cor 9:6-8, “He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”
