The NCSCT Was set up by the English Department of Health in 2009 and now receives core funding from Public Health England Is a not-for-profit organisation that provides training, support and resources for stop smoking services Is commissioned to provide training in England, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man and for the Armed Forces

The need for a course on stop smoking medications Smoking Toolkit Study

How does behavioural support increase the effectiveness of medications? Ensuring that clients have a realistic expectation of the medications Advising clients on medication choice, dosage and duration Discussing side effects and how to deal with them Monitoring use of medication Facilitating supply of medication

The NCSCT Stop Smoking Medication course covers: 1.The part that stop smoking medications play in quit attempts 2.Very Brief Advice (VBA) on smoking, incorporating stop smoking medications 3.Providing behavioural support around medication use for clients attempting to quit
