Landforms Any natural feature of the earth's surface

island A piece of land that is surrounded by water

peninsula A body of land that is surrounded by water on three sides

plain Land that is flat.

mountain The tallest kind of land

hill Land that is higher than the land around it but smaller than a mountain

plateau Large, flat land that is higher than the surrounding land

cliff A steep face of rock and soil

volcano A mountainous vent in the earth’s crust

cave A large hole in the ground or in the side of a hill or mountain.

valley A low place between hills or mountains
