BOOKS Click on each book to read about them

HARRY POTTER Harry Potter was my first love. It was the first series I ever “got in to,” and I have never stopped loving it. I first read it in fourth grade when I was sick one day. I made it through the majority of the first book in that one day I was sick, never putting it down. That series is something that I will never tire of. Click me!

LOVE YOU FOREVER This is a book that my mom started reading to me before I could read at a very early age. It is also one of the first books I learned to read. I really enjoyed this book as a child, and looking back, I think it’s really funny and creepy all at the same time.

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA I remember my mom buying me this series at a yard sale when I was in elementary school and saying that one day I would like them. I tried reading them in middle school and loved them. Even then, I loved all of the allusions made to the Bible. It made me realize the importance of symbols in literature, but more importantly, the series made me realize the importance of religion in my life.

AMELIA BEDELIA These books are completely different than the others I have mentioned. The main reason that I liked these was for their dry sense of humor. Sometimes I like books that I don’t have to think about, and this was it. They were funny, small, and easy read. Those were really the only reasons I loved them so much.

SOULSOUL

Unlikely Contaminant Who among us doesn’t want a cat? Who couldn’t love a pet like that? All soft, and cuddly, furry, sweet With claws protruding from his feet. This feline bliss loves to nap By crawling up upon your lap. Licking with a loving touch, And showing that he loves you much. But, lap cat bearers need reflect Upon the dangers that infect. While laying, so calm, sedate The claws beneath contaminate. Have a wound or open sore That needs to heal a little more? Watch! For Fluffy, malice not, Could make your body fill with rot. Cat Scratch Fever! That’s the plight! He may haphazardly incite. Deep inside his arteries Lurks this unique and rare disease. How to thwart this agony That vexes fever unto me, Causing me to rash and swell, Which makes me feel like bloody hell. Halt this fateful fever’s blight By keeping Fluffy out of sight. But if this treatment you find flawed You’d best go get him fast de-clawed!
