Currently the Tybee Island Fire Department has 31 volunteer firefighters/first responders and 1 full time firefighter/EMT and a full time Fire Chief. We have 3 part time firefighters. 3 First Responders for Rescue 6 Fire Department

Emergency Management: I have coordinated the sign lettering for the South Beach Warning Signs. The Fire Extinguishers and AED Devices have been checked and recertified in all of the City Buildings. I have attended the 2015 Chatham County Hurricane Conference. I have attend the 2015 Emergency Management Summit and Training Sessions I have attended the April Community Rating System Local User Group meeting. I have participated as a Facilitator in the CEMA Tabletop Exercise for the Evacuation Assembly Area. I have attended the April and May Public Safety Committee Meeting and taken the notes I have attended the CEMA meeting titled County / Municipal issues prior to 2015 Hurricane Season I have reviewed the DRAFT 2015 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan and returned for editing. I have attended the final planning conference for the Chatham County Disaster Recovery plan.
