Yerevan 2797 year old Yerevan is the capital of Armenia years have passed since the foundation of our city. The name of the city of Yerevan goes back to the period of Urartu and originates from the name "Erebuni". It is known from the Urartian studies that the Urartian sound "B" sounds like "V" in Armenian. Thus, the name Erebuni has been transformed and has become Yerevan. Yerevan is located on the edge of the Ararat valley on both banks of the river Hrazdan, at an altitude of above sea level. The climate is acutely continental with hot and dry summer and relatively severe winter. By its administrative border the city is adjacent to the marzes Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir and Kotayk. by Artashes Torosyan

Khndzoresk is a village and rural community in the South East of Armenia, in the province of Syunik. The village is located to the right of Goris - Stepanakert highway, on the steep slopes of Khor Dzor, from which, according to tradition, it got its name. Crossing the bridge at the entrance of the village, the road continues towards the towns of Lachin and Stepanakert. New Khndzoresk (the current inhabited area) was built in the 1950s. The village is located at 1580m above sea level and occupies 6772,8ha. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia reported its population as 2,260 in 2010, up from 1,992 at the 2001 census. By David Ohanyan Khndzoresk

Noravank Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery,It is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church, which grants access to the second floor by way of a narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of building. The monastery is sometimes called Noravank at Amaghu, with Amaghu being the name of a small and nowadays abandoned village above the canyon, in order to distinguish it from Bgheno- Noravank, near Goris. In the 13th–14th centuries the monastery became a residence of Syunik's bishops and, consequently. a major religious and, later, cultural center of Armenia closely connected with many of the local seats of learning, especially with Gladzor's famed university and library. by Saribekyan Olya

Haghpat Monastery Haghpat also known as Haghpatavank. The monastery was founded in 976 by Queen Khosrovanuysh wife of the Bagradit king Ashot III.The location of Haghpat was chosen so that it overlooks the Debed river. The largest church in the complex, the Chathedral of Surb Nishan, probably begun in 976, was copleted in 991 by king Smbat. It is a typical example of tenth century Armenian architecture. Its central dome rests on the four imposing pillars of the lateral walls.

Singing fountains in Armenia by Arus Harutyunyan Perhaps the most unexpectedly enjoyable part of our visit to Armenia, was the singing fountains in Republic Square. Quite a lot of Eastern European cities have them, but they pale in comparison to Yerevan. Everything from 18th century classical music, to the Mission Impossible theme tune. People come from all over the city, after a meal or a few drinks, to take in the wonderful atmosphere.
