What are Chief Dan George’s attitudes towards the two cultures? He’s comfortable and understands the culture of the First Nations (native Canadians). The respectful beliefs make sense to him. He doesn’t understand the selfish nature of the culture of his “white brothers”.

George says: “My culture is like a wounded deer that has crawled away into the forest to bleed and die alone.” What does he mean by the extended simile? The simile compares the native culture to a wounded deer. The culture has been harmed. The extension to the simile adds that the deer/ native culture is mortally wounded and will be left to die.

What can you infer about Chief George’s wife? She has passed away. He loves and misses her. He misses feeling her love towards him.
