Fulfilled in Jesus What did Jesus fulfill? Prophecy – verbal propositions predicting the coming of a deliverer-king Typology – people, events, structures that foreshadow the person and work of Jesus Jesus fulfills the storyline of the Bible expressed in God’s promise to Abraham

Fulfilled in Jesus Matthew 1- 2 Jesus is the “seed” in whom the promises to Abraham would ultimately be fulfilled 1. Genealogy: Son of Abraham

Fulfilled in Jesus Matthew 1- 2 Jesus is the unique, “Isaac-like” son of promise Jesus is the unique Son of God (“Emmanuel”) 2. Miraculous Birth
