LESSONS FROM LOT GENESIS 13,14,19

Lot Lot was a nephew of Abram Gen. 11:27 – God calls Abram Gen. 12:1-4 – Lot goes with him Heb. 11:9-10 (act of faith) – 2 Pet. 2:7-8 a righteous man Lot was wealthy Gen. 13:6 Abram let Lot choose which land he wanted He chose the well-watered plain of Jordan v.12 He pitched his tent toward Sodom v.12 He was in Sodom and got captured 14:12 Abram rescued him 14:13-17

Lot God told Abraham He is going to judge Sodom; he interceded for the city 18:16-33 Lot was at the gate 19:1 (a city leader) He sought to protect the visitors 19:2-3 He showed hospitality 19:3 He refused sinners’ request 19:4-8 (with compromise in v.8) He became the object of Sodom’s wrath 19:9 He tried to save his family 19:12-14 Lot delayed escaping the imminent doom 19:16
