Background: Evacuation routes Evacuation traffic signal timing
Purpose: Evacuation signal timing test, at the conclusion of the July 4th fireworks. Test evacuation assumptions and strategies. Coordination with other District agencies and its Regional partners conduct Collect data during a Regional event that includes both heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Public safety will remain the priority for all public safety agencies.

Operation Timing and Duration: The operation starts right after the conclusion of the fire works. It lasts for 2 hours
Operation Procedures: 240s CL for all 5 selected routes in coordination with VA and MD. 7 th ST/Georgia Ave.(Simulation Route) EB, WB and SB moving restrictions at the 6 critical intersections All motorists are directed to turn to northbound direction 14 th ST Bridge. HOV lane reversal Always a last minute decision by MPD Requires coordination with VDOT and MPD DDOT 800MHz radios used for communications with VDOT
