Temperate Forest By Alex Jones

Overview Temperate forests grow between the tropics and the polar regions in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. They have a moderate climate Temperature varies from -30° C to 30° C. Precipitation (75-150 cm) is distributed evenly throughout the year.

Plant Life Temperate forests include a mix of trees that belong to three main groups. Deciduous: Plants that lose all of their leaves at the end of the growing season. Conifer: A kind of tree or shrub with needles or scale-type leaves that produces cones. Evergreen: A bush or tree that has green leaves throughout the year.

Animal Life Represented by squirrels, rabbits, skunks, birds, deer, mountain lion, bobcat, timber wolf, fox, and black bear.
