The Amazing... Quebec!

Location Quebec is partly detached from Canada by Hudson Bay. It faces Europe and the heart of North America. The Canadian Shield covers about 90% of Quebec.

Climate Long,cold winters About 1,000 mm of Precipitation each year. Summers often VERY hot. Heavy Rain. Cool, dry Winter. Lots of snowfalls. Unpredictable weather and temperatures. A LOT of wind!

Physical Features Many valleys and plateaus. Rocky hills. Thousands of lakes and rivers that stretch to the Atlantic Ocean. One of the largest areas with forests in all of Canada.

Animal Life Caribou,deer, polar bears, black bears, moose. Squirrels, foxes, raccoons. Variety of birds: Hermit thrush, sparrows, snowy owls, chickadee. Seals, beluga, blue whales, northern pike, salmon, cod, bass, trout, snow crab, lobsters, Atlantic salmon.

Natural Resources It has zinc, iron ore, and copper, which are the most important in Quebec A bunch of trees- more forest than any other province in Canada Wood for construction Minerals refined in Quebec Waters surrounding Quebec Silver, gold and lead
