Delivering Performance Insights Goal study-Overview Overview of goals scored In total 77 goals were scored during the tournament  61 of the total goals scored were from Open Play.  16 goals were scored from Set plays.  As a percentage, 79% of goals were scored from open play and 21% from Set plays How the goals were scored Of the total goals scored, 52% were scored with the Right Foot, 28.6% with the Left foot and 19.4% with headers.

Delivering Performance Insights The adjacent table displays the total amount of goals scored by each country during the tournament.  Teams highlighted in Blue finished top of their group  Teams highlighted in Red finished bottom of their group Only Italy averaged less than a goal a game and qualified from the group stages.

Teams highlighted in blue all qualified from the group stages This shows pass completion as an important determining factor for success.

The three goals scored where 9 defenders (ex. Delivering Performance Insights Summary 77 goals were scored in total throughout the tournament. Only 22% of the goals scored were done so by teams from a loosing position 42% of goals scored were done so from the area between the 6 yard box and penalty spot (B2) 42.2% of the total assists were created by Centre forwards and centre mid-field players. 42.9% of possession leading to a goal was done so in the middle third of the pitch. (E1&E2) 84% f goals were one touch finishes.
