 Make A Plan For Finding An Area For The Floor To Be Tiled. Include The Geometric Formulas You Will Use To Find The Area. Then Find The Area Of The Floor That Will Be Tiled?

 Find area of whole floor.  Find area of cabinets  Subtract the area of cabinets from the area of the whole floor  Formulas:  a=b*h  a=h(btB) /2

 Calculations  10*2=20 sq.ft. (rect 1)  5*2=10 sq. ft.(rect 2)  2 (4+5) /2= 9 sq. ft.  = 39 sq ft Rectangle 1 Rect angl e 2 trapez oid

 Cabinets Area = 39 sq ft 13 * 18=234 sq 13 ft Floor Area=234 sq ft 234 sq ft (entire floor area) 18 ft - 39 sq ft (cabinets area) 195 sq ft Tiling area= 195 sq ft

 You estimate that it will take 4 minutes to install each square foot of tile. Find the number of hours it will take you to complete the job.

 Each square foot takes 4 minutes  There are 195 sq. ft.  195 x minutes  780/60= 13 hours  With 195 sq. ft. It will take 780 minutes which is 13 hours.

 Determine how much you will charge per hour for labor. Remember that the costs need to be competitive or you will not get any work.

 For labor, we will charge $11.00 per hour.

 What other costs do you have to consider? Write an expression to represent the cost of your expenses if the customer chooses a tile that costs $t per square foot.

 t* 195+ (11*13)

 How much will you charge for the owner of the kitchen shown above to install tile that costs $8 per square foot? Prove a detailed explanation that you can share with the customer.

 If you choose the tile that costs $8 per square foot, the whole project will cost $1703 because: 195 (sq ft) * $8 = 1,560 b 1,560 + $ 153 (our wage) = $1,703. So the cost for your kitchen will be $1, 703.
