South Korea By Shivani Sreekanth

Languages The main language is Korean. They also borrow Chinese words.

Food They eat rice with every meal. Kimchi is the most popular food. Kimchi is made of cabbage, radishes, garlic and red peppers. The traditional drink is tea. They also drink coffee.

School They learn reading, writing, math, and art. They start Pre-schools at an early age. They go to pre-schools before kindergarten. They play with clay for a while. When they arrive at school they have a short time to read.

Clothing They dress like Americans. They have normal clothing and traditional clothing. They wear traditional clothing at celebrations. Most Koreans wear western style clothing. Youth wear modern fashions.

Homes Most Koreans live in cities. Some live in small houses. Some also live in apartments. A country house is made out of brick or concrete block.

Leisure activities They like soccer, basketball and tennis. Swimming is a popular sport. They do a martial art called tae kwon do. They also do tae kwon do after school.
