My dad’s mom is named Sara. She is from Israel and lived there and in England before coming to the United States. She celebrates all Jewish holidays. She ate English and Middle Eastern food. Sara was a student in England and Israel. She also worked in a laboratory in a hospital. Sara would play skip rope, hide and seek and she would also roller skate. All day Sara would study, play and help her mother. Sara left Israel to be with her father in England. When Sara moved she was treated fairly. Sara liked living in the United States. She knew English and she got a good job.

Sara worked in a good hospital. She got breaks and it wasn’t hard. Sara didn’t get paid a lot so she didn’t have a lot of money.

Sara Noorily Where she lived the weather was mild. Sara liked all different kinds of food. Sara fit in and went places with people like her. She had to get used to shopping in malls and driving a car.

Sara didn’t leave to go to the United States because her old country was poor, famine or because of a war. She moved to be able to marry my grandpa. To fit in, Sara had to change her last name. She also ate new foods.

My dad’s dad is named Morry. He is from Iran. He celebrates all Jewish holidays. He ate Middle Eastern food. Morry was a student in Iran. All day long Morry would study, tutor and play. He liked to play baseball. Morry came to the United States to study. When Morry left there wasn’t a war in Iran. When Morry got to the United States he was treated fairly. Morry fit in and knew English. He had a part time job after school.

Morry worked as a secretary for a businessman. He had a lot of work to do but he had breaks. It wasn’t very hard. Morry didn’t get paid a lot so he didn’t have very much money.

The weather where Morry lived was close to California weather. He liked American food. Morry had to get used to driving a car and shopping at malls. When Morry came to the United States he flew by plane. He didn’t go with anybody that he knew but it wasn’t scary.

When Morry left Iran he didn’t leave because of a war, famine, or because Iran was poor. He just left to be a student. To fit in Morry had to shorten his last name and get new clothes. He also had to eat different foods.

That was the history of Sara and Morry Noorily.
