OBJECTIVES Understand how to demonstrate and achieve professional looking images using;  Content - Aware  Filters and;  Image Overlays

LESSON OUTCOMES All students will be able to, with support, use content aware, filters and image overlays to modify images. Most students will be able to with limited support use content aware, filters and image overlays to create their own images. Some students will work independently to produce new professional and realistic images making use of prior knowledge, content-aware, filters and image overlays. Understand how to demonstrate and achieve professional looking images using;  Content - Aware  Filters and;  Image Overlays

STARTER – PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR Open the Word Document that has been supplied and like the example work down the toolbar naming as many of the buttons as you can. Rate each button on the toolbar out of 10 as to how confident you are to use that feature. If you finish quickly, elsewhere on the sheet name all the techniques we have used too. Understand how to demonstrate and achieve professional looking images using;  Content - Aware  Filters and;  Image Overlays

MAIN TASK ONE – CONTENT AWARE Watch the video/ demonstration and then have a go yourself. How do you get rid of the irritating logo or take something or someone out a picture ….. MAIN TASK TWO – FILTER AND IMAGE OVERLAYS Watch the video/ demonstration and then have a go yourself. There are instructions on the next slide so don’t panic of you don’t follow! Create a dazzling effect on your favourite music, TV, film star or animal. Understand how to demonstrate and achieve professional looking images using;  Content - Aware  Filters and;  Image Overlays Video Demonstration

FILTERS AND IMAGE OVERLAY INSTRUCTIONS Load in your image Select it all (Ctrl and A) or (Select  All) Copy it (Ctrl and C) or (Edit  Copy) Go to (File  New) Double the number in the height and width boxes Paste in your image (Ctrl and V) or (Edit  Paste) and move it to the top left hand corner using the Move tool. Repeat this step three times till you have the same picture in each corner. Double click on one of the layers and select one of the Overlay options. Change the blend mode to multiply and choose your options. Click OK and repeat for the other three layers. Go back to each layer and in turn pick a filter, you can choose which filters to use. See what you can create. Remember you can use the undo tool if you don’t like the filter you have applied. PLENARY – PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR (2) Go back to the worksheet from the beginning of the lesson you should now be able to add some more buttons and more techniques to the page. If your finished early, extend the work by giving an example or a small explanation of each button or technique. Understand how to demonstrate and achieve professional looking images using;  Content - Aware  Filters and;  Image Overlays
