Export Access Data to Excel Access includes a tool to export data from an Access database into an Excel workbook. When you export Access data, you create a copy of the data in Excel. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Create an Excel Worksheet from a Word Table After entering data in a Word document, you may realize that you can manipulate the data better in another program, such as Excel. Instead of starting over and retyping the data, you can copy the data from the Word document, and then paste the data into an Excel workbook. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Copy and Paste an Excel Chart into Other Programs Copying and Pasting an Excel Chart into Word Pasting an Excel Chart in PowerPoint You can copy an Excel chart, and then paste it in files created with other applications. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Copy and Paste an Object from PowerPoint into Excel In PowerPoint, bullet points can be converted into a SmartArt graphic to illustrate your message visually. After you create a SmartArt graphic in PowerPoint, you can copy the graphic and paste it into a file created with another program. This can save you time because there is no need to recreate the graphic. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Link Excel Data to a Word Document Use the linking tools in Office to connect the data in an Excel worksheet to a Word document. When you link an Excel workbook to a Word document, changes you make to data in the Excel workbook will be updated in the linked Word document. Information about the link is saved with the Word document. By default, when you open the Word document, Word checks all linked files and prompts you to apply any changes. Modify Linked Data and Update Links It is common to make changes to your data in saved files. You can modify the data in the source file and all linked data to that source file is updated to reflect the changes. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Create a Table in Word from Access Data You can export data from an Access file to another file—for example, an Excel worksheet, a Word document, or another database. Exporting is similar to copying and pasting. In Access, you can export large amounts of data by selecting the name of the object that contains the data you want to export. Exporting data eliminates the need to retype information; as a result, the possibility of data entry errors is reduced. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc. Publishing as Prentice Hall.

Use Access Data to Complete a Mail Merge in Word If you already have information in an existing data source—for example, an Access database— you do not need to enter the data again during the mail merge process. You can filter data to quickly find a portion of the total records available. Filtered data displays only the records that meet the conditions you specify and hides the records that do not meet the conditions. Copyright © 2014 Pearson Education, Inc.
