Executive Branch President’s duties: Carry out and enforce laws made by congress –Make treaties with foreign nations –Appoint certain important government officials –Act as commander-in-chief of the armed forces –Veto laws pass by Congress

How does the constitution limit the president’s power? Appointments –all important positions the presidents makes needs to be approved by the Senate –Advice and consent: the process in which people agree to the presidents consent
