God Is True Psalm 89:14 “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.”

“What Is Truth?” John 18:37-38 “Thy Word is Truth” John17:17 God Is True

2 Timothy 4:2-4 “…preach the WORD; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure SOUND DOCTRINE; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the TRUTH and will turn aside to myths.

John 8:44 “You are of your father the DEVIL, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a MURDERER from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is NO TRUTH in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the FATHER OF LIES.”

Our Warfare “The devil seeks whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 “having girded your waist with TRUTH” Ephesians 6:14

Our Warfare “The devil seeks whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 “Let no one deceive you with empty words” Ephesians 5:6

If I Were the Devil…  I Would Try to Keep You in Foolishness and Error (Prov. 14:1; Eph. 4:17-19; Rom. 1:21- 22)  I would challenge your belief in a Creator and His Bible so that you would give no thought to the reality of Hell.  I would try to keep you from thinking about any consequences of your choices. (Prov. 1:7)  I would try to keep you from the Word of God and offer you counterfeit religion.

If I Were the Devil…  Playing to your desire for freedom to do as you please, I would tell you there is no absolute truth.  Playing to your desire for convenience and comfort, I would tell you that one church is as good as another. Eph. 1:22-23  Playing to your desire to avoid conflict, I would tell you that it doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you love Jesus. Gal. 1:6-9  Playing to your desire for the praise of men, I would tell you that blunt and direct preaching on repentance from sin is harsh and unloving and judgmental. Gal. 4:16

If I Were the Devil…  Playing to your desire for fun, I would offer you entertainment and emotional stimulation in place of worship according to God’s instructions. Jn. 4:24  Playing to your pride, I would offer you performance religion, glorifying the performer instead of God. I would plant the thought that God wants you to use your talents, and that’s what really matters to Him. Col. 3:17  In the end, I would make your religious beliefs and practices a worship of self.

If I Were the Devil…  I Would Want You to be Insensitive to Sin (Rom. 12:9; 1 Thess. 5:21-22)  I would change the way you look at sin by using non-threatening words to soften the effects of sin.  I would emphasize being “politically correct” so that pointing out sin became bigotry and ugliness.  I would use humor to get you to laugh at sin and make it appear to be “fun” and “harmless.”

If I Were the Devil…  I Would Want You to be Insensitive to Sin (Rom. 12:9; 1 Thess. 5:21-22)  I would tell you any lie to promote the advantages of sin; remember I have no conscience!  I would tell you that your faults are no worse than others; and besides, nobody’s perfect!

If I Were the Devil…  I Would Try to Poison Your Relationships (Eph. 4:29-32)  I would promote the idea that YOU are #1 – it is all about YOUR needs. Jas. 4:1-2  I would promote jealousy and pride; gossip and slander. (Satan loves to cause discord among brethren!) 2 Cor. 12:20  I would put it into your heart to “get even” and take revenge. John 13:2,27

Draw Near to the God of Truth  God Will Bring You Out of Foolishness and Error  God Will Empower You to Overcome Sin  God Will Bring Peace to Your Relationships Satan wants to destroy you. Your only defense is to draw near to God. (James 4:7- 8) Are you?

Will You Become A Christian? Hear The Gospel (Rom. 10:17) Believe That Jesus is the Son of God (John 8:24) Repent of Your Sins (Acts 17:30) Confess That Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 8:37) Be Baptized for the Forgiveness of Sins (Acts 2:38) Live Faithfully Until You Die (Rev. 2:10)
