Activity 83- A Suitable Habitat Challenge  What are some of the important NON-LIVING characteristics of a habitat? Vocabulary: Habitat Biomes Populations

Getting Started Read the Introduction on page E-58. Define Habitat in your journal.  Habitat: refers to the type of place that an organism is found to live

Read pages E-60-E-64. When you are finished, please completed the SS 83.1 by marking the statements that you believe agree with the reading. Then Please answer Analysis Questions 4, 6 and 7 in your notebooks.

How can population size vary after changes to a habitat?

How important do you think non-living factors are in affecting the size of a population? For example, how might an increase in rainfall affect a population of earthworms?

What Biome do we live in????

What factors might prevent an introduced species from being successful in a new environment?

On page E-65, Answer analysis questions 4, 6, and 7. 4.The most common biomes in the US are the Grasslands and the Deciduous Forest.  The Taiga and Coniferous forest cover most of Alaska, but it is not easy to see on a flat map
