3 Initial Assessment (IA) Initial Assessment (IA) to determine new student’s level of English proficiency □ Administered to all new students in Grades K-8 with a language other than English as determined by their Primary Language Survey □ Must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment □ Administered throughout the year

4 Annual Assessment (AA) Annual Assessment (AA) to assess all English learners on their progress in acquiring English proficiency □ Administered to all continuing English learners in Grades K-8 □ Administered through October 30, 2015 □ Used in determining Reclassification (w/ teacher input and parent consultation) □ Additional criteria provided by ELL services
