The Organization of Living Things. Key Concept As multicellular organisms develop, their cells differentiate (change & separate) and form levels of organization.
CELL IMAGE ACTIVITY Draw each image of cells and write 2-3 observations. When done, compare the animal cells and plant cells. (Yes, humans ARE animals.)

How is the body organized? Como esta organizado el cuerpo humano?

Cell-Celula  Microscopic (Microscopica)  Made up of organelles (esta compuesta de organelos)  All living things are made up of cells (todos los seres vivos estan compuestos de celulas)

1. Organelle (Organelo)  Substructure of a cell  It performs a specific function  Found inside the cell Estructura que forma parte de la celula. Tiene una funcion especifica. Se encuetra dentro de la celula

3. Tissue  A group of cells working together form a tissue. (tipo de celulas similares que realizan una funcion especifica)  Ex: Muscle cells working together form muscle tissue (ej. Celulas musculares que trabajan juntas para formar tejido muscular)

4. Organ  One or more tissues working together to perform a specific function.  Ex. stomach, skin, liver

Kidney (Rinon) Lungs Pulmones

Organ System- Sistema de organos  Two or more organs that work together to perform a specific process. Dos o mas organos que trabajan juntos para realizar una funcion especifica.  Ex. Stomach, small intestine, large intestine all work together to form the digestive system. Ej. Estomago, intestinos, esofago y boca trabajan juntos y forman es sistema digestivo.

Digestive system

Organism (Organismo)  When all organ systems work together and create a living thing (Cuando todos los sistemas de organos trabajan juntos para realizar una funcion especifica.  Ex. fungi, plants, animals (Hongos, pantas, animales)
