Axelle and Broad Galleries By Andrew Ferreira

Axelle Gallery Beth Carter, born in England in 1968, received her degree in Fine Art from Sunderland University in the United Kingdom. She has many pieces in the Axelle Gallery. She is most known for her crafts in sculpture. More specifically he popular statues of a mans body with a horse and/or bulls head. The picture below is one example of such. I specifically like this piece because it reminds me of something I would see on a show on syfy… I like syfy. It is supernatural yet, humorously proportional. It’s truly and unique piece.

Patrick Petropolis Patrick Pietropoli was born in 1953 in Paris. He was a teacher of political studies for several years before becoming a professional artist. Despite being born in France, he later moved to the US. He is known for his oil paintings of cityscapes. In the painting below, he illustrates the city of New York with a very contemporary freeness type of style. I chose to talk about this piece because it makes me feel although it is 2- Dimensional, however still retaining depth.

Broad Gallery The Broad Gallery has many piece from many famous artist. Some of these artists include: Dali, Chagall, Picasso, and Matisse. Below is a piece from Dali. He is known for having very beautiful surrealistic pieces. I particularly like looking at Dali’s work because it’s as if your looking at what’s going on in his mind slapped onto a canvas. For example, this piece is titles Space Elephant. You really get a feel of his imagination and how he puts pen to paper.

Chagall Chagall interests me as an artist because his work is so simple yet so beautiful. He used a lot of cool colors like blue and green as depicted in the painting below. The Piece below is called Place De La Concorde Also I like that looking at his piece it tells a squenced story that you can interpret for yourself. It is quite clear that Chagall used his work as an outlet as many of his pieces have clear moods and emotion.
