Reasons of why people are leaving Mexico City: By Brandon Date: 1 st February 2011 MYP2

Drugs, Gangs and Violence: This is a big problem in Mexico City that a lot of people of because how bad it is becoming. One of the most common reasons why people would be leaving is because they want the safety of themselves and there children. But this issue is also most common in the shanty settlements in other words it is a everyday thing for people who live in the Shanty settlements where there is a lot of drug deals and drug wars which is extremely dangerous for the community

Education and Health Provision This is one of the most important things that city planners have to arrange. The with schools in Mexico is that 1000’s of children in both primary and secondary students fail every year and there scores remain low all the time so when that happens parents would move there children(and sometimes themselves) to another country and get better education depending where they go(I recommend Barbados).

Overcrowding Overcrowding is a problem in most of the cities in the world but Mexico City has that problem like a everyday thing. The people who live in scattered settlements and the Shanty settlements are always overcrowded and cramped so when that happens people are forced to move out by there own will to go somewhere else to live.

Shelter Some people in poor quality homing areas that are more than likely to be filthy and unsafe making them sick with diseases when they have lack of sewage systems, damp conditions and worst of all lack of water for bathing and drinking.

Sewerage Systems This is also a problem in Mexico city. The sewerage system can’t always keep up with the 1000’s and 1000’s of people coming in and using the toilets. So when that happens they have no choice but to cut off some of the sewerage systems at certain number of homes to make sure that the sewer underground does not over flow with human waste and stick up the city.

Pollution Pollution is very high in Mexico City because cars are always coming in as well as people are. So the more cars that come in is the more of the risk of the safety of children when cars release there horrible gases that pollute the air. Mexico City is also so polluted that it is normal for them to have a huge black cloud over them in the day time.

Poverty The Poverty is difficult in Mexico. When more and more people are coming into the city many of them are going to be needing jobs to survive in the city but, it is hard to get a job in Mexico because most of the jobs in the city are taken. So if you don’t find a job in Mexico city there is no way that you can survive with the bills floating above your head when you don’t have a job and when that happens you will only have one that is always avaible being a bum.

Traffic The traffic is usually heavily jammed in the biggest cities in the world and over 1000 accidents happen in all major cities in the world a year(especially Mexico). It is almost impossible for there to be no traffic in the world’s most major cities. Traffic jams are so bad in they last for a whole entire day making things hard for all the people that live there.

Electricity Issues Electricity issues are extremely bad especially for poor people. When poor people have no electricity they cook with oil and coal and when they cook with coal they are also polluting the air even worse than how it already is and there are so many poor people in Mexico (over 1000) are cooking with coal so you can imagine how nasty the air is. Almost all people in Mexico use electricity and some electricity companies can’t keep up with the amount of people that use electricity and when they can’t control a limit of some sort a massive black out happens for hours or at least for the rest of a day.

Job Opportunities Since 1000’s and 1000’s of people are coming in every year business men can’t keep up with the amount of people coming in so when that happens over a half of those thousands of people won’t be accepted for jobs. So when that happens people start selling there belongs or stealing other people’s and sell them to the public and be paid money.

Rubbish Collection Many poor people in major cities collect peoples rubbish and sell them or trade for something valuable.
