Presentation transcript:

Directions Customize the around the room racing cards by clicking inside the text boxes and changing the text, font, & size to your needs. The pictures and border can not be changed. Print and cut apart the cards. Laminate for durability if desired. Hang the racing cards around the room. Give each student a copy of the worksheet on page 10. Students walk around the room, stop at each card, solve the equation or problem on the card, and write their answer below the matching picture on their worksheet. They continue in this manner until they have completed the race (answered all of the racing cards). Students do not have to complete the cards in order. This can also be set up as a center. Place the cards in a container. Students pull out a card, solve the problem, and write their answers below the matching picture on their worksheet. A blank, editable worksheet is included on page 11. This can be used to customize the number of around the room cards used. Simply number the cards and then create a sheet with numbers and spaces for answers. It can also be used to keep track of students’ progress, for a center, or any racing related activity.

This activity is part of the Lead Lap Learning Series by O’Block Books & Educational Materials. The goal of this series is to bring the excitement and thrill of racing to learning. It was inspired by my nephew, Justin Bolton. He is pursuing his dream of racing in NASCAR by racing in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series, attending UNC Charlotte majoring in mechanical engineering motorsports, and racing in the iRacing Pro NASCAR PEAK Antifreeze Series. To learn more about Justin please visit his website – JustinBolton.com, follow him on Twitter and/or like his Facebook page (Justin Bolton Racing). We appreciate your support and hope you enjoy our materials. - Tina O’BlockJustin BoltonJustinBolton.comTwitterFacebook page
