Station I: Directions Read and Analyze Rudyard Kippling’s poem, The White Man’s Burden. Summarize, in your own words, the meaning of each section given. Answer the question that follows. For questions 2-3, use the reading, “An Indian woman looks at the British” and answer.

Station II: Directions Read and analyze each quote given. Next to each quote, write whether it is “FOR” or “AGAINST” imperialism. Be sure you are correct! Answer the questions that follow, using quotes and references from the excerpts to defend your answer.

Station III: Directions Use pages 715 (for Africa), 723 (For Asia) and 831 (Modern Map) of your book to help you. Using different colors to indicate each nation’s activity, follow the directions on “Imperialism in Asia and Africa” (for example, one color for free nations, one for Italy, etc.) LABEL each nation with a pen as it is mentioned in the directions. Examining your maps for the information, answer the questions in your learning stations packet.
