Ways to save the air and our Earth By: Ally, Holt, Huntley & Trace

What is Air Pollution? Air pollution is a mix of gases, car exhaust, and factory smoke that makes the air dirty. Air pollution can also be dust and pollen that makes the air harmful to breathe.

Causes of Air Pollution Carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas is the main pollutant that is warming the earth. SUVs and trucks and minivans are the worst kind of cars to drive because they use the most gas and pollute the most.

Where do we see air pollution? Air pollution is in the air all the time. From factories, cars and cigars  We breathe in polluted air everyday. Transportation is the largest single source of air pollution in the U.S.!!

Cars Cause Air Pollution One of the most toxic gases is light duty gasoline. The exhaust from the cars puts carbon monoxide into the air…it’s dirty!

In 1989, US Surgeon General talked about the health hazards of cigars. HERE’S WHAT IT COULD CAUSE  ! It could cause stained teeth, heart disease and nervousness. It is really dangerous, please don’t smoke you can get cancer!

Smoking Kills With every cigarette you smoke you reduce one second off your life! The smoke clogs up your lungs. Your lungs can turn black. Smoking can cause lung cancer! It can affect kids that are near smokers.

Smoking is Bad! Smoking makes it hard for people to breath. Even plants can’t breath with smoky air. Even passive smoke is bad and can cause terminal lung cancer.

Factories! Factories make more smoke pollution than other companies. Factories make more smoke every single day.

How We Can Help!  Start a no driving week.  Make sure your friends and family who own cars are looking after them!  A car is only considered smoky if it emits visible smoke from its exhaust pipe for a continuous period of more than 10 seconds.  Get an electric car.  DON’T SMOKE!!!!!!  Take a bus[it pollutes less].  Don’t buy from companies that pollute the air.
