The Renaissance: New Directions

Renaissance spread across Europe Southern Renaissance (Italy) focused on classical antiquity with its worldly values Northern Renaissance focused on renewed Christianity and biblical studies. Renaissance was an elite movement far removed from the masses

North vs. South Both focused on the individual – Northern  focused on individual in a religious or communal setting; Focused on the hardships of life – Southern  stressed the individual in secular, commercial, and urban scenes – THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS!

Ideas with the Renaissance Individualism Worldliness Learning Antiquity Reform

Did the five ideas come from the Middle Ages?
