Reasons for the Revolution  People didn't want an American "fake" religous leader  They wanted a real follower of Islam to be their leader  Ayatollah thought the Shah was just benefitting themselves  The people of Iran didn't want Western culture to spread to their country Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini

Impact of the Belief  There has been conflict between Sunni and Shite Muslims within Iran(whose main religion is Islam)  There has also been conflict between Islamic people and other religions in the United States -Because of their specific set of beliefs
