What is Bastille Day?  It is the French version of the American’s Independence Day. It is the French national holiday. This holiday honors the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille.

The importance of Bastille Day:  Bastille Day is important to the French people because it honors the storming of the Bastille. The French people see the raid of the Bastille as the start of their new form of government and their separation from the rule of kings. Thus this event led to the French Revolution and was the start to the French’s independence.

How do you celebrate Bastille Day?  Bastille Day is celebrated on July 14. Bastille Day has a lot of festivities being celebrated throughout the day. There are numerous parades, fireworks, and feasts going on to honor this day. The biggest parade is the one they perform in front of the President of the Republic and the biggest firework display is the one they do at the Eiffel Tower.

Who celebrates Bastille Day?  People in France and also many different people all over the world celebrate this holiday.
