EMSWORTH MTI HEALTH-CHECK – A SHORT HISTORY: Emsworth Food Festival and 30-month survey started to establish likes and dislikes about the town – Action Plan developed with support of Hampshire County and Havant Borough Councils and broken into four main categories: Local economy and visitors Community hall inadequate and no visitor centre Re-generation programme for more shops and homes Increased contact with Military neighbours led to St George’s Week, Parade, Music Festival Museum and PG Wodehouse connections to be exploited Young people and children Youth Club started by Churches and Community Assoc Somewhere to play on the beach

EMSWORTH MTI HEALTH-CHECK – A SHORT HISTORY Town access (via the road system) Access statement and survey done of all footpaths and cycle links Now on a website Assisted Safe Routes to School programme – more bikes, less cars Facilities Inadequate public conveniences - South Street re-development will address this Emsworth’s strategic bus route poorly served with shelters – now all but one stop have bus shelters along the A259 Town centre bus shelter/war memorial “tired” and vandalised Emsworth Train Station run down with poor access for those with disabilities
