Avon Grove High School ITLT Program The Science Department has grown enormously due to this program. –11 out of 13 (or 84.6%) science teachers are using the mobile laptops with classes –7 out of 13 (or 53.8%) teachers are using the laptops and science probes for lab activities –Science teachers performing lab activities using the probes and laptops have gone from 1 teacher to 7 in just one year –Student work has shown significant improvement in quality –Lab activities are the most prevalent in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics The laptops are used to help students gather lab data for the science activity

Other ITLT Program Improvements at AGHS Include Individualized training on using mobile laptops and teachers. This year we focused on the following departments: English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. –Out of 43 possible teachers from those departments, approximately 25 teachers (or 58% of those) have used the laptops for classroom instruction. –Classroom instruction with the use of the laptops include a variety of activities and lessons. –Other teachers, within different departments have requested to use the mobile laptops as part of their instruction. Teachers have noticed significant improvements in research skills. Teacher and student training on Bigchalk, Power Library, and Proquest databases for research and general reading purposes.

Goals for AGHS ITLT Program Continue growth and expansion of teachers and staff using technology for classroom instruction Increase sharing of innovative ideas by building a database of projects, ideas, and websites Continue one-on-one training as needed Be supportive of new ITLTs, faculty, and staff Improve ways to maintain equipment
