About Tsunamis  A tsunami is a gigantic wave that can cause chaos if it hits an island, city or town.  When a tsunami forms it is because of an underwater earthquake.  When forming, the tsunami starts off small, but then it grows bigger and bigger until it crashes.

The Tragedy OOn Sunday, 26 December 2004, the greatest earthquake in 40 years occurred about 150 kilometers off the west coast of northern Sumatra Island. OOver people died in the disaster.

Calabunga Death TThere was an earthquake that generated a disastrous tsunami that caused destruction in 11 countries bordering the Indian Ocean. NNow tourists are scared of going because they think the same thing will happen again
